The U11 Blues continued their good form this Sunday with an excellent performance finishing all square against the Fire Fighters who had won their past 4 games.
From the start, Noah & James combined well up front, with the midfield playing quick balls though to them. Reward came mid way through the half, when George played a quality pass through to Noah, who found the back of the net with a powerful shot. The Blues always looked a threat, but as the half went on the Fire Fighters upped their game, and Gopal stood out in defence to keep them at bay. Not long before half time though, there was nothing that Olly could do to keep out a stinging shot from the home team that brought the sides level.
The second half was as tight as the first, but this time the Fire Fighters scored first only for the Blues to strike back when James put pressure on the home defence that lead to an own goal. From then on Olly took centre stage in goal with some outstanding stops and quick reactions to deny all that was thrown at him and win the MOTM award. Blues continued to counter and nearly snatched the win late on, but the result was a fair one and well done to both teams.
